Nadia and Carol
Nadia Comaneci, (born November 12th, 1961 Gheorghe Gheorghiu-Dej (now Onesti] Romania) Romanian gymnast who was the first gymnast to receive a score of a perfect of 10 points in an Olympic competition. Bela Karrolyi was a Romanian gymnastics instructor, who later became the coach for Comaneci and first became aware of Comaneci when she was just six years old. Comaneci participated for the first time in the 1969 national junior championships. She finished 13th. The following year she became champion. At her first international meet in a preolympics junior competition for nations in the Communist bloc, she took home three gold medals. Then in 1973 and 1975, she was crowned all-around Junior Champion. When she made her debut as a Senior in the year 1975, she defeated Russian Lyudmila Turkishcheva, the five-time European champ winning four gold medals and one silver. In 1976 she became the first person in the world who used a double backwards salto in order to take off the parallel bars. Carol Wayne.........................Carol Wayne was an American film and TV actor best recognized for portraying Art Fern's Tea-Time Movie Lady on The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson. When she was a teen Carol Wayne started working in the entertainment industry performing as figure skater. Along with her younger brother Nina Wayne she was part of a show that traveled called Ice Capades. Carol Marie Wayne was born on the 6th of September 1942 at Chicago Illinois US. Carol's career began in entertainment during her teenage year. She began her career as model skater with her sister Nina Wayne as part of the touring entertainment show known as Ice Capades. The shows featured theatrical ice-skating performances.
