Laura Linney is an American actress who is well-known for her performance of strong but vulnerable characters. Born to a well-known playwright's father, and was raised by a single mom who made a living by working as a nurse. She was drawn to theatre when working with her father during the summer then pursuing acting studies, first as a student at Brown University and then at Juilliard School. The actress began her Broadway career soon after completing her degree, and then made her television debut the following year. In the years since, she's been in numerous films as well as TV and stage productions. In her professional career, she has won many awards, including her two Golden Globe Awards. Though she was awarded numerous prizes through the years, performing is always her main interest.
